Sharon Dowsett Flute Edinburgh Teaching

Teaching is extremely important to me. I welcome students of all ages and abilities. Students can play for fun or work towards qualifications from ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall. I also teach Grade 5 music theory.

I aim to cover a wide range of topics in my lessons from tone development, through to technique and repertoire. I also include duets, not only excellent sight-reading practice but also great for intonation, phrasing and ensemble.

I teach at several schools across the city, both private and as a peripatetic teacher for City of Edinburgh. I teach university music students and also coach flute sections in local concert bands and orchestras, and have conducted and arranged music for flute choirs.

I have child protection training and am a fully vetted member of the PVG scheme.

2017-18 rates are £28 per hour. Lessons take place in the Craiglockhart area of Edinburgh, EH14.
